Yoga teacher and professional kirtan musician
Mirabai Warkulwiz is a full-time yoga teacher and professional kirtan devotional musician who was inspired to teach by her own physical and spiritual growth thorough yoga. She holds over 1,000 hours of certifications in asana, pranayama, meditation, and kirtan in the classic Integral Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga, YogaWorks, and Restorative traditions.
Mirabai has been teaching yoga and leading kirtan for over 13 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering a synthesis of unique yoga teachings to help people strengthen mind and body and open their hearts, and to lift collective consciousness. She invites her yoga students to transcend physical, emotional, and mental blocks to experience more spaciousness, comfort, happiness, clarity, and inner peace.
She began her yoga and meditation practices in San Francisco at the Sivananda Center in 1998. Inspired by how her practice helped her heal a back injury and generate other positive life changes, she decided to become certified to teach. Mirabai has completed 200-hour teacher training programs at the Integral Yoga Institute and at the Greenpath Ashtanga Studio. She has also completed a 170-hour Intermediate Teacher Training program in asana and pranayama through the Integral Yoga Institute.
Mirabai is also a kirtan musician and leads devotional chanting gatherings in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her classes combine chanting, sound, and music with asana, pranayama, yoga nidra (relaxation), and meditation to offer a spiritually uplifting and holistic experience.
