Melissa Sutor, MS, MA

Mindfulness expert, founder of Dragonfly Healing Center

Through her own direct experiences of the power of mindfulness, Melissa Sutor has shared her knowledge in healthcare centers, educational institutions, and corporate environments. She is the founder of Dragonfly Healing Center whose mission is to facilitate the healing and positive transformation of people and the planet.

She teaches Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at Kaiser Permanente medical center in Maui and consults with staff on mindfulness programs at other clinics in Hawaii. Her counseling degree from Santa Clara University includes a specialization in health psychology with a focus on mindfulness.

Having worked in Silicon Valley as an engineer, project manager, and consultant in high-tech fields, Melissa became intimate with stress and eventually burnout. Experiencing the death of an engineer on her team due to a massive heart attack, Melissa was traumatized by the unhealthy work culture of most top-performing professions. After taking time to heal, she was on fire to learn about work stress—its detrimental effects, and its prevention through mind-body awareness and action.

Now Melissa leads workshops and talks at organizations, including Google headquarters, and has been featured on the cover of Mindful magazine.

Her retreats bring together a diverse group of participants who witness the similarities of our shared human experiences, along with appreciating and honoring our differences, to create deep connection with self and others. Melissa is a solid guide in using mindfulness to enhance trust in our own inner wisdom and increase our ability to live our true self that is aligned and happy in mind, body, heart, and spirit.
