Maria E. Mattioli, M.S., MFT

It is her deep belief that creative self-expression belongs to everyone, not just to those who society deems “talented”. She is dedicated to supporting others in the reintegration of creativity into their every-day lives.
Maria has been a teacher of Process Painting for 20 years. Her connection to this work began in 1987 when she was a work scholar at Esalen Institute, in Big Sur, CA. It was “love at first brush stroke”. Since then she taught this method in a variety of settings, including workshops for psychotherapists in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She teaches monthly workshops at her studio, SoPa Artspace in Santa Cruz, CA.
She is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists as a continuing education provider for MFT, LCSW, and LPCC.
