Leslie McGuirk is an internationally acclaimed designer, illustrator, children’s book author, and corporate speaker on the topic of creative thinking. She launched her eco-friendly design company, McGuirk’s Quirks, in 1984 with a line of t-shirts—later building the iconic brand to include over 1,500 products sold worldwide.
Leslie has written and illustrated over 20 children’s books with over two million copies sold worldwide. If Rocks Could Sing was voted one of the top 10 books by Independent Booksellers. Her books have been recognized by Variety magazine, the Oppenheim Awards, Town and Country magazine, The Martha Stewart Show, and many others.
Leslie writes an astrology column for Portfolio magazine and manages a thriving astrology consultation business. Her first adult, non-fiction book, The Power Of Mercury, was published by Harper Elixir (a Harper Collins imprint) in September 2016.
A popular speaker, Leslie was featured at TEDx Hollywood 2016 on the topic of “The Importance of Being Wrong.” Her TED talk is all about the creative spirit, and how she managed to thrive as an artist despite having no training in art, and being told repeatedly that she had zero talent.
