Peabody Award-winning broadcaster, best-selling author
Krista Tippett is a Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and New York Times best-selling author. She is a recipient of the National Humanities Medal, which she received at the White House in 2014.
As the creator and host of public radio’s On Being, she takes up the great questions of meaning amidst the political, economic, cultural, and technological shifts of 21st-century life. In 2013, Krista took On Being and its emergent Civil Conversations Project into independent production, with a studio and public event space in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Krista grew up in Oklahoma, attended Brown University, and holds a master’s of divinity degree from Yale. Krista was a journalist in Cold War Berlin as the New York Times stringer and correspondent for Newsweek, International Herald Tribune, the BBC, and Die Zeit, before becoming a special assistant to the US Ambassador to West Germany. Her books include Einstein’s God, Speaking of Faith, and most recently Becoming Wise: An Inquiry into the Mystery and Art of Living.
