Karen Brody is certified in yoga nidra and has a master’s degree in women and international development. She is a powerful advocate for women’s well-being and leadership—a writer, mother, and social changemaker who is on a mission to help women become more powerful and well-rested mothers, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
Karen is the founder of DaringtoRest.com, a website focused on training visionaries interested in sharing the message of her Daring to Rest™ program with women around the globe. Her book, Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation, has been called a “masterpiece,” “simply brilliant,” and a 40-day program that “makes yoga nidra relevant and accessible to 21st-century women, who may need this practice more than any previous generation.”
Karen is also a former community organizer for grassroots women’s initiatives and a playwright. Her theater-for-social-change play, Birth, has been seen in over 75 cities around the world, and raised over one million dollars to improve maternity care.
Karen is the mother of two boys and met her husband in the Peace Corps. She resides in Washington, D.C., but considers the world her home.
