Heidi Darr-Hope has worked as a professional artist and teacher for over 40 years. Having lost her six-year-old brother to brain cancer at age 10, she created Healing Icons® to weave together her life experiences and professional art techniques into an interdisciplinary approach, using art as the vehicle to promote healing to those whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
Finding that making art alone was not enough, along her healing journey she studied Mexican death traditions, Jungian psychology, Tibetan mandalas, and expressive writing. She believes that we as humans can claim our inalienable birthright to express what can’t be expressed with words.
Exhibited both nationally and internationally, her art has been collected by over 30 national and international corporations, as well as by numerous private collectors, including the Columbia Museum of Art, the South Carolina State Museum, and the South Carolina Arts Commission.
A yogi, meditator, and enthusiastic world traveler, Heidi is also an ordained interfaith minister and a Certified Dream Facilitator with the Haden Institute.
