Renowned poet, author, and speaker
David Whyte is the author of eight books of poetry and four books of prose. An associate fellow at Said Business School at the University of Oxford, he is one of the few poets to take his perspectives on creativity into the field of organizational development, where he works with many European, American, and international companies.
David’s education and extensive global travels—including working as a naturalist guide in the Galapagos Islands and leading anthropological and natural history expeditions in the Andes, Amazon, and Himalayas—inform his deep and reflective work. As a lecturer, David uses poetry and thoughtful commentary to illustrate how to foster qualities of courage and engagement as a response to today’s call for increased creativity and adaptability in the workplace.
His books of poetry include The Sea in You, Where Many Rivers Meet, Pilgrim, and The House of Belonging. He has authored a collection of audio lectures, a DVD, and three albums of poetry and music. David and his work have been featured in publication such as The Huffington Post, The New York Times, and on Oprah.com.
He is the recipient of two honorary degrees: from Neumann College in Pennsylvania and Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.
