Banafsheh Sayyad is a Persian sacred dancer, choreographer, transformational teacher, and founder of Dance of Oneness® a catalyst for divine embodiment.
Banafsheh, who performs and teaches internationally, is acclaimed for her innovative movement vocabulary. She is one of the few bearers of authentic Persian dance in the world. An innovator of Sufi dance previously performed only by men, she has also mastered a fusion of high-level dance technique with spiritual embodiment.
With an MFA in dance and an MA in Chinese medicine, she is dedicated to individual and collective healing through conscious movement. Her dance film, In the Fire of Grace, a collaboration with renowned mystic and scholar Andrew Harvey, traces Rumi’s journey of the soul in dance, and her award-winning work has been presented in North America, Europe, Turkey, and Australia.
