14 Things We Love About 1440's Kitchen Table

Food is our common ground, a universal experience. —James Beard

We love the 1440 Kitchen Table and everything about it—the fresh food, the modern Arts-and-Crafts setting, the wonderful, welcoming staff.

But we chose 14 things just to give you some hints of the amazing culinary center at the heart of the 1440 campus.

1. THE FIREPLACE.

You’ll want to sit right on the hearth of the big, cozy fireplace in the center of Kitchen Table. So homey.

2. THE FOOD.

Fresh, healthy dinner (like this red curry, lemongrass shrimp with roasted cashews and cilantro) never tasted so delicious!

3. THE TABLES.

The long, hand-made wooden tables in the center of Kitchen Table. They’re imported from a small village in Indonesia, and you feel right at home sitting at the tables, meeting friends or making new ones.

4. THE CHEF.

We can’t talk about the food without mentioning our Executive Chef, Kenny Woods. His insistence on quality and flavor are reflected in everything from the grape salad with forbidden rice to the unique pizzas from the wood-fired oven.

5. THE PIZZA.

There’s nothing like pizza from a wood-fired oven. Is it time for lunch?

6. THE SILENT DINING AREA.

If you’re not in the mood for conversation, that’s okay, too. Come to the silent area of Kitchen Table and bask in the quiet.
